iWaver 02

iWaverから02がリリースされました。液晶・メモリ機能つきのレディセットが出る予定なのですが、間に合わなかったのか、一足先にシャーシセットだけが出ました。早速簡単ですがご報告いたします。

Package パッケージ

EVERGREENスタジオがデザインするようになってから、パッケージ周りもクール＆クリーンな感じで刷新されています。クリアケースに入って、まるで本棚に入るような感じですね。

Contents 同梱物

シャーシはRM状態で組まれたものと、付属品、MM関連のパーツ、スペアのタイロッド（トー角は同じ）などが入っています。展開図がついていますが、上に「RM」、下にも「RM」(本当は下はMMのはず）となっていて、笑えます。

Includes also parts for MM. The instruction sheet has a mistake, not showing how to buid MM type motor pod. This will be a typical problem for those who don't own a Kyosho MR-02. Here's the Kyosho MR-02 exploded file.

IW 02 kit contains only 1 rear mount of damper, which is for wheelbase L while Kyosho RM kit contains 3 type of rear mount for WB S, M, and L. The black ones are Kyosho's in the picture below. So if you want damper for IW02 M length chassis, you need to purchase the RM parts in addition. Or you need to buy other suspension kit released for RM.

Chassis シャーシ

X印のスリットの入ったアッパーカバーはかっちょよさげですが、埃とかはいりそう……。それから目立つのは、リアダンパーの取り付け位置ですね。

You can see the "iwaver style" of rear damper mount. Simpler way than Kyosho. But it's only for wheelbase L.

細かいところでは、シャーシ底面のスリットが違いますね。バッテリを取り出すのには、長いほうがやりやすいかも。"This is iwaver"と入っています。MADE IN CHINAですね。フロントカバーあたりのビス近くの部分が、面取りされているとか、デザインを細かく変えていますね。

Longer slit for battery eject than Kyosho's. FYI (those who don't own Kyosho's), you eject the batteries inside by inserting the battery clip into these slits.

"MADE IN CHINA" while Kyosho's are "MADE IN JAPAN". Square chassis cut at the screws while Kyosho's are round cut.

iWaver02 RM and MM

MMも組んでみましたが、MM用のサスプレートは、削らないとモーターポッドに取り付けできないという有様でした（汗）。

The T bar for MM is needed to be filed so as to fit with MM motor pod. Poor cast quality.

Difference with Kyosho MR-02

Beisides quality issue, there's some difference between IW02 and MZ02.

• Damper installation (RM)
• Detail of main chassis (longer battery slit, square cut, etc.)
• Servo motor detail (shape of endbell side, plastic pinion, etc.)
• Potentiometer notch size (bigger) = Servo gear socket size (bigger)

Impression インプレ

01の方が基盤の信頼性も増して、02も買ってみようという気になったのですが、ちょっと粗悪になった気がします。デザインは悪くないんですがねぇ。プラパーツの素材がお菓子のおまけみたいな素材になってしまったのがショック。まあ、割れたりしなければいいのですが。たとえば、ホイールの内側、ベアリング受けの部分にがたがあって、ナットで固定した状態でもホイールに遊びが残ったりとか。

ビスも、粗悪になってます。一見ビス頭の見た目がチタンビスっぽくて「おっ」と思ったのですが、すぐにつぶれる安物ビスでした（涙）。いけませんね。

ま、安物ですから、もともとレースに使うことを期待しなければ、十分以上の性能を持っていますので、お買い得であることに違いはありませんが、もう少し品質がよければ……、と欲を持ってしまいます。

Package is good, chassis design is no bad. The kit includes parts for MM (like the 02 chassis kit of Kyosho mini-z), and even 2 spare tierods. The r/c unit has no brake.

Quality of plastic parts are graded down (compared to iwaver01). Ridiculous quality. Wheels have much play that causes instability on the track. You need to file some parts to be fit each other. Besides, the screws are graded down, too. The head of the screw is very easyly broken. Very shamed.

Anyway, you can buy a r/c board and some spare (poor) parts for the price. That may still be a good deal. At least they can run and performs much more than a toy full-function r/c.
